Dr. Karen Griner believes there is always room for hope and optimism, and that compassion, empathy, and understanding bring us greater fulfillment in our lives. Dr. Griner has worked in the mental health field for many years, graduating first with a masters degree in Community Counseling (2000), later obtaining a doctoral degree in Counseling (2014), and is licensed in the States of Florida and Maryland. While Dr. Griner has specialized in working with children and adolescents, being an advocate for strong, healthy families, she is also very interested in and supportive of women's health.
Dr. Griner's approach in her therapeutic practice is warm and supportive above all. Client-centered is a great description of how she approaches treatment, giving space for clients to express needs while feeling cared for. She is inclusive and understanding. Focused on the needs of children and teens, Dr. Griner has pursued trainings in child-centered play therapy, ADHD and autism spectrum disorder certifications, and trauma informed care. Focused on the needs of adults, Dr. Griner has pursued trainings on CBT, attachment theory, and trauma informed care.
Her passion for travel and photography have taught her how a change of perspective can fundamentally change the way the world looks. 🌻
